Dax is a Guatemalan graphic artist who specializes in calligraphy. He has gained recognition for his work that incorporates elements of both abstract and calligraphic art. As a lover of calligraphy, all his works are inspired by letters, giving them a new way to be adapted to people’s perception, making them step out of books, advertising, and common media. Dax has participated in various art exhibitions and projects both in Guatemala and abroad. His work is characterized by a blend of modern graphic design techniques with the artistic tradition of calligraphy, creating pieces that are not only visually striking but also culturally significant.

Graduating in graphic design in 2008, Alex Dávila continued his career in the graphic arts as a creative and designer for 8 years at the advertising agency Leo Burnett. In 2015, he won the Silver Jade Award in the design category at the Festival de Antigua. Throughout his career, his work as a visual artist ran parallel, and in 2017, he decided to fully immerse himself in the artistic world, participating in various solo and group exhibitions, as well as achieving the following artistic milestones: Graphic creative at the advertising agency Leo Burnett Guatemala. Winner of the Silver Jade Award in the design category at the Festival de Antigua 2015. Artistic mural exhibition at Plaza Fontabella, Zone 10. Typographic project of 8 murals in collaboration with Cementos Progreso and the Municipality of Guatemala, 2019. Solo show of the collection Puertas y Caminos at Galería 77, Zone 10. Group exhibition EXPOSUEÑOS 2019 with Fundación G&T. Anniversary exhibition 2019 at Galería 77, Zone 10. Live artwork on canvas in collaboration with the German art supply brand Molotow.
