Oscillating between the lived and the imagined, each image represents an effort to reclaim that place that once was home and still resides within her.
They delve into the complexities of being, seeking to understand the human psyche and confronting themes such as death, family, and childhood: those crucial periods that shape much of who we are. In seeking to decipher her own childhood, it becomes a constant theme in her work.
Her paintings serve as a window into this inner world, creating works that reflect not only darkness, but also the beauty and vulnerability of the human experience. Each piece embodies the intricate interplay of memories, emotions, identity, and imagination.
Adriana Isabel Bautista, known as Adrian, was born on May 16, 2003, in San Pedro Sacatepéquez, San Marcos, Guatemala. From a young age, she showed an interest in art, exploring painting classes. However, it was during their adolescence that they discovered their true passion for this form of expression. Graduate of the National School of Fine Arts “Rafael Rodríguez Padilla” with a specialization in painting, currently beginning studies at the University of San Carlos of Guatemala in a Secondary Education Teaching Degree in Visual Arts and Art History. Has participated in group exhibitions such as the Juannio Art Auction, the 2024 Gallery of Gifts at the Hospitality House Arts Program in San Francisco, California, and the exhibition titled CUATRO at the Ixchel Museum of Indigenous Dress.
