Rita Menéndez was born in Guatemala on October 3, 1983. From an early age, she encountered art thanks to the influence of her grandmother, a painter, who encouraged her to develop her creativity through drawing and sculpture. Throughout her life, she received broad artistic training in various fields, from painting, drawing, and sculpture to music, singing, and dance, which also inspire her visual creations. She had the opportunity to study in Guatemala with the master Daniel Schafer and Sergio Antonio González, who introduced her to academic realism. She continued her painting and drawing studies with a classical focus in Barcelona at the Barcelona Academy of Art for three years. Since 2013, she has participated in various group exhibitions in Guatemala.
