I was born in San Juan Comalapa, Chimaltenango, in 1970. I am a self-taught visual artist and have explored various techniques, including oil painting, watercolor, acrylic, engraving, and woodcut, among others.
To date, I have received 16 national awards. The first was in 2000, granted by the Ministry of Culture and Sports at the National Watercolor Salon in the «Free Creativity» category. Later, in 2005, I received an award at the National Arturo Martínez Contest in Quetzaltenango. These recognitions continued, culminating in the most recent award this year at the National Painting Contest held in Salamá, Baja Verapaz.
