Like the rest of my work, which is heavily influenced by literature, this charcoal piece represents my feelings toward what Sartre describes as "Nausea" in his book of the same name. It captures an overwhelming sense of disquiet that strikes unexpectedly. Perhaps unintentionally, Sartre perfectly describes the state in which many people find themselves due to various life circumstances.
