Exploring Figuration and Expression through Experimentation. In my journey as a Guatemalan visual artist, I have found an endless source of inspiration and connection with my surroundings in the stylization of the human figure and artistic expression. Through techniques such as drawing, painting, acrylics, watercolor, and fumage, among others, I aim to capture the unique essence of each situation, exploring the depth of various themes and the uniqueness of our world. Celebration of the Human Figure: My art focuses on the representation of the human figure, deformed and altered within our everyday perception, as a means to explore the inherent complexities of daily life and the human experience. Experimentation with Fumage: Fumage is a technique I use to create works that evoke the ephemeral and the ethereal. By using smoke and subtle tonal variations, I seek to create an atmosphere that invites contemplation and adds a layer of mystery to my figurative representations. Through an initial impression of a dark work, it becomes something more than a piece that evokes rejection in the realm of aesthetics. Exploration of Emotion and Context: Each piece is not merely a visual portrait but an attempt to capture the underlying emotion and emotional context of my subjects. Through gestures, expressions, elements, and settings, I aim to convey silent stories that invite viewers to reflect on the complexity of the human condition. Contemplation: My goal is to create works that are not only visually engaging but also invite contemplation and inner dialogue. This manifesto is more than a statement of intentions; it is a call to all art and visual expression lovers to join in the exploration and celebration of our human characteristics, which unite us as social and thinking beings, capable of discerning that art goes beyond aesthetics.
